Reading is one of the most enriching habits someone can acquire.
Finding time to read in our fast-paced modern lifestyle is quite a challenge. Planning some reading time into our busy schedule seems the best way to keep at it.
But what would be the best time for our brain to grasp and our hearts to embrace the delightful stories of those irresistible books? From our estimation, you can get the best experience at either the start of the day or at the end of it. Let’s look at both of them:
The morning reading routine
Some people prefer to read in the morning. These people say that some book reading before starting your day wakes you up and stimulates your mind, thus making you face your daily tasks more energetically.
However, not everybody is an early bird, and even if you are, most of us birds got little chicks to feed first thing in the morning and a lot of other duties that can’t wait. If you’ve got a busy day ahead, you have to go and if you haven’t, you have to go back to bed to make up for lost sleep.
You can’t focus on reading when you know that there are so many responsibilities you need to take care of as soon as possible, and with everything going on in the house, in the morning, you can be easily distracted.
There is also restlessness. Not all of us can get a good night’s sleep and wake up rested the next morning, and with a gloomy mood, it will be difficult to enjoy any kind of reading.
The evening reading routine
It’s so rewarding to be able to sit down after a long day and read a good book. Most people usually choose to read at the end of the day, after they have finished work and completed all their chores, as it helps to relax and wind down.
It’s also perfect as you can stretch the reading time as much as you wish without having to worry about distractions, disturbances or going to school or work.
If we read during the quiet evenings we will be able to pay more attention to the details and remember the little things better.
And if you like dragging your feet, in the evening there are no excuses to do so. So stop putting it off, grab that book and get started.
Normally most of us are too tired in the evening to get anything done. Luckily with book reading, we can do so from the comfort of our bed. Less energy? No problem. Lie in bed and read. Allow yourself to relax before going to sleep.
I’ve noticed that during the evening I feel and experience the stories I read even more. There is something about the darkness that makes us sensitive people feel even deeper the emotions of our favorite characters.
“It was their last goodbye.” Oh, are those tears?
“The disabled girl won the race.” Hum, did I just cheer out loud?
Nonetheless, whatever time you like or choose to read, keep reading. The best time to read can be at any time, as far as you have a good book beside you.
